Korero from the Deputy Principal:

Welcome to Term 4 week 2! What a busy start to the term it has been already. All classes have been working hard on learning about things that happened 100 years ago at Reporoa Primary and in our community. The students are very excited for the centennial celebration as are we. We are looking forward to meeting past pupils and our community.

Thank you to Perma Pine for donating 6 posts for our school for our inquiry learning this term. We are very appreciate of this donation. nga mihi!

Hats and Sunscreen:

Term 4 it is compulsory for students to wear a Potai (hat). If students have no hat – students are required to play in the shade under the shade sails. It is also a great idea if sunblock can be put on in the morning before getting to school. We do have some sunblock available at school if it needs reapplying on extra hot days.

School hats can be purchased from the uniform shop for $18 https://rep.nzuniforms.com/product/reporoa-primary-school-wide-brim-hat-1907321.htmx

A couple of photos from our awesome cluster sports day. It was a great day with lots of sportsmanship shown. Well done to everyone who participated and to our parent helpers!

Winter Cluster Sports

What an awesome way to finish the term by getting together with our kahui ako schools and having some fun. Super proud of our tamariki for showing such great sportsmanship and having a positive attitude throughout the day. They had a couple of favourite games which they requested we play during lunch times at our kura. It was a fantastic day!

Touch and Rippa

Unfortunately we did not have enough interest to get any year levels to these modules. Keep an eye out for term one touch modules through the newsletter or Seesaw, the details of the module will likely be the same in term one.

Swimming

We are a country surrounded and filled with stunning beaches, rivers and lakes and we need our tamariki to be confident in and around water. Swimming is a compulsory part of our school curriculum. It is essential that all tamariki bring their togs, we really need parent support behind this!

Up and coming events

2nd November – Senior Golf

14th November – Athletics

21st November – Cluster Athletics

nga mihi – Whaea Tanissha

Tuakana Teina Sports at the College

This week Rūma Tahi have visited the college to work with some year 13 students. Jayden, Desire and Awatea took our class for some warm up games, stretches and a very competitve and enjoyable game of multi-sports. Rūma Tahi had such a blast, some excellent sportsmanship displayed and engaged tamariki.

From the Board of Trustees:

A big thank you to all those that have contributed to the work of our centennial. The Koru garden is looking amazing! We have a wonderful community and we are very grateful! We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Friday and Saturday.

Year 3/4 Camp

Unfortunately due to health and safety concerns at our usual 3 and 4 venue, we will be having a couple of day trips instead. We are looking at heading to Taupo where the year 3 and 4 students will participate in exciting team building and fun events without staying overnight. The cost will be very minimal (transport). Dates to TBC. There will be a newsletter with more info coming out soon.

LOST  – Black Sketchers with thick White Sole Size 3. If you have seen them or if they have been taken home by mistake could they be returned to the school office – thanks.
