Nga mihi nui ki a koutou katoa – warm greetings to everyone
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I did my reflections and thank you’s last week, so this week I would just like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday. Enjoy your time with your precious children because on Friday we are sending them back to you for 6 weeks! We will see you back on Wednesday the 31st January.
Koha Donation Furniture!!!
We have a huge number of desks we no longer want or need. They will be on the court tomorrow (Thursday). PLEASE come and pick up if you want something. They will be available all day until 4pm. A koha of whatever you wish is all that is needed in return!
‘Toilet Competition’ :
Congratulations to the girls for the cleanest toilets this term! It was a very close race. Free swim on Thursday lunchtime- bring your togs!
Wanted – helpers in 2018 for “STEAM”:
Next year we will be running a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) programme on Friday afternoons. We will be splitting into mixed age groups and running classes for 5 weeks at a time. If you have an expertise in any of these areas and can take a small group for 5 weeks on Friday afternoons to complete a project, we would love for you to help us deliver these curriculum areas to our children! Get in touch with Richelle for more information!
Thank You…
Thank you our awesome Whanau Group for the very cool disco last Friday. We loved it!
Year 6 graduation :
Thank you to Whaea Jill for organising a lovely get together for our year 6 students last night. It was a small group this year so we held it in the hall. Congratulations to the recipients of awards.

CHANGE OF EVENT!!!
For health and safety reasons and on the advice from the NZ police, we have had to eliminate all crossing of roads and biking on the road. The staff do not have time to create another course at this late stage BUT we have been lucky to have a group of parents who are going to organise and set this up for us so that we don’t have to cancel the triathlon! THANK YOU PARENTS!
Teachers will remain with their classes and mange them throughout the day.
PARENT HELP
Please see Jolene Guyton if you can help on the day.
INDIVIDUAL COMPETITORS
Children competing as an individual will need to own/borrow a safe bike. They will be competing by themselves against other individual competitors of the same age group. Closed in footwear is compulsory for bikers and recommended for runners.
TEAM COMPETITORS
Children wanting to enter in this category will need to make up teams of 3. There will be a section for same sex and another for mixed in each age band. One person will be the swimmer, one will be the biker and one will be the runner. Closed in footwear is compulsory for bikers and recommended for runners.
BIKES
Children will need to provide their own bike – a bike check is your responsibility. Helmets and closed in footwear are compulsory for this event. We encourage parents to bring their child’s bike at the start of the day and place it in the transition area, (juniors – under the oak tree and seniors in the hall), where it will remain until the event starts. After the junior and senior triathlon has finished all bikes are to be kept in the hall for the rest of the day.
COLLECTING CHILDREN
Ensure that the classroom teacher has marked off your child if you want to take them home before 3pm.
