Nga mihi nui ki a koutou katoa – warm greetings to everyone

Newsletter changes:

After analysing the community survey we have made a few decisions about the newsletter. The format will look different because it is now written directly onto the website. You can get to this at any time by going to www.rep.school.nz and clicking on newsletters (under the newsletter/class blogs heading). The previous newsletters are also archived here if you wish to look back. This newsletter will then be saved by us as a PDF and emailed out to all emails in our system. Please ring and give us your updated email if it has changed. The newsletter will also be put on our facebook page.

We are only going to send a paper newsletter copy home to those who request it. Please phone the office if you wish to keep receiving paper newsletters!

Welcome:

We would like to welcome Miss McIndoe to Room 1, Maddison and Sohana to Room 5, and Malachi to Room 3. We hope you are all enjoying your first few days at Reporoa Primary School!

Turf:

IMG_2267Unfortunately in the holidays there was a hold up with getting the turf installed. The basketball hoop is required to go in first and didn’t arrive until last Friday. I very quickly requested the turf not go in over the weekend due to Pet Day! It will be happening possibly this weekend or in the very near future. Exciting!
The hoop is proving to be a huge hit regardless, and I am seeing some basketball enthusiasm gaining momentum with the children.

green-star-11Stars of the week:

Last term Madison Taylor won “Lunch with the Principal” with her entry into the Maori Language Week Te Reo competition. Here we are enjoying a healthy lunch together. Thanks Madison!

Well done to the Guyton family for their efforts in dressing up on the last day of school for “Loud Shirt Day”. We raised $46 for the deaf foundation.

Thumbs-Up-Circle-300px (1)Thank you:

A big thank you to the Pet Day committee for organising the pet side of pet day. This is a huge job which begins part way through term 3! Also thanks to the whanau group who organised the raffle and games this year.

Thank you to the community who came along for a fun day. The children loved it and it is such a neat way for us to get together. I was impressed with the turn out given that it was in the holidays (something we could not avoid due to the set timing of group day).

Photos can be found on our facebook page, on the website under events, and on the TV screen in the foyer. If you have any photos you think are great, send them to me and I will add them to the collection.

Nãku i runga i aku mihi ki a koe – Yours with thanks
